The American Chamber of Commerce in Okinawa (AmCham Okinawa) is a non-profit member organization. Membership is open to individuals and companies of all nationalities.
The AmCham Okinawa has 6 membership categories. Two of them,COMPANY MEMBERSHIP (CO) and INDIVIDUAL, which are designated as U.S. Controlled are granted the right to Vote at the Annual General Membership Meeting, and are eligible to run for elected board positions.
The SPECIAL COMPANY MEMBERSHIP(SCO) is available to non-American companies, managed by non-American Nationals that do not qualify for Company (CO) membership. Members of Special Company Membership cannot vote, but may run for elected board positions.
SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP (SP)and ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP (AS)are Available to non-commercial organizations or individuals, Are (Non-Voting) memberships.
NON-RESIDENT MEMBERSHIP (N/R- Non-Voting)shall be available to Companies or individuals who are not residents on Okinawa, (over 100 kilometers away) or overseas.

With an average of eight events per year, AmCham Okinawa provides great opportunities to our members to establish and develop their business network in Okinawa. Members can benefit from this platform to get acquainted with American & Japanese government officials, business organizations, successful local business owners, etc. Events for networking include: Shinnen Kai, Valentinefs Day, Chamber Connection & Networking Night, Fourth of July, Moonviewing, Presidentfs Ball, etc.

AmCham Okinawa is proud to present our new members to everyone at our monthly General Membership meetings. Also we can help you publicize your business at our events and also by introducing you to potential new customers every month at our General Membership meetings.

Military Briefing
Once a year the Military gives AmCham Okinawa an extended briefing on what is going on with them in Okinawa and Japan.
Government Officials Introduction
It is our responsibility to help members voice their problems and/or comments on relevant policies or issues. And at the same time, we help introduce members to government officials if necessary.
Committee Meetings
Committees play an important role in the creative aspect of the Chamber, as committees identify relevant industry specific topics and design forums for further discussion and education.
